Biography
Dejan Ćeremidžić was born on September 29, 1972, in Sarajevo. He completed his primary and secondary education in Sokolac. He graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education in East Sarajevo in 2000. He enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Niš, where he obtained his Master’s degree in 2005 with the thesis titled: “The Relationship Between Morphological Characteristics and Motor Abilities with Situational Motor Abilities of Basketball Players of Different Competition Levels.” He successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Comparison of Motor Abilities Results and Situational-Motor Parameters of Basketball Players at Different Competition Levels” on April 10, 2007, at the Faculty of Physical Education in East Sarajevo. He works as a full professor at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at the University of East Sarajevo, where he teaches the courses “Basketball” and “Winter Sports.” He began his sports career in football, playing for the youth teams of FK “Glasinac,” and later switched to basketball at KK “Glasinac” during his cadet years. Throughout his basketball career, he has played for a number of top-level clubs in the Republic of Srpska, including KK Glasinac, KK Mladost, and KK Jahorina, and he continues to be involved in basketball as a player-coach at KK “Jahorina.” In the Basketball Association of the Republic of Srpska, he holds the position of delegate for the First League of the Republic of Srpska. He is also a member of the Basketball Coaches Association of the Republic of Srpska (UKTRS) and has served as president of the Coaching Organization PKO Romanija-Herzegovina in the Basketball Association of the Republic of Srpska. He has been a long-time lecturer at coaching seminars organized by the Basketball Association of the Republic of Srpska. In the field of Nordic skiing, he has won numerous medals in cross-country skiing (classic and freestyle) at the republic level in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 1991, he has been a member of the Ski Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an instructor-coach. He has been a member of the State Alpine Demonstration Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2008. He is also a member of the commission for obtaining the titles of ski instructors and coaches in the Ski Association of the Republic of Srpska. He holds an international ISIA Level III Instructor license. Currently, he is the director and organizer of the “Vučko” Ski School. He is the author of three books and many articles published in national and international journals. He has participated in national and international conferences and is a reviewer for university books in the fields of basketball and football, as well as for articles in prestigious national and international journals. As a mentor, he has supervised over 100 students’ theses and has participated in over 20 committees for the defense of master’s and bachelor’s theses. He has also been a member of a doctoral dissertation defense committee. He was a member of the Senate of the University of East Sarajevo. To date, he has published over 30 papers in recognized national and international professional journals. He is married and has two children.
