Sanja Mazić

Biography

Sanja Mazić is a full professor at the Department of Medical Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. She is a specialist in sports medicine and has served as the long-time Head of the Department of Sports Medicine. Currently, she is the Head of the Centre for Sports Medicine and Exercise Therapy. She is the proposer and current Chair of the Program Council for the PhD studies module “Applied Research in Sports Medicine and Motor Skills”. Professor Mazić has led two international projects on behalf of the University of Belgrade. One of these resulted in the internationally recognized Master’s program “Physical Activity, Health, and Exercise Therapy,” which is offered at the Faculty of Medicine, where she is the program director. The other project, “Connected 4 Health”, focuses on the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity. Additionally, she is a participant in the project of Serbian Ministry of Education, Health and Sport “Every Child Has the Right to Grow Up Healthy” which aims to introduce additional physical education and health education classes in primary and secondary schools, promoting healthy lifestyles and the use of exercise for preventive and therapeutic purposes.
